Proactive. Predictive. Preventive.

HGV 6-weekly inspections and LGV 6-weekly inspections.
There are a number of essential checks and tests that any vehicle must pass in order for it to be on public roads. These checks are vital in order to be able to prove that a vehicle is compliant, fit for purpose, and roadworthy.
As with any vehicle, HGVs and LGVs must have a valid MOT and should undergo regular servicing, but in addition they are required by law to undergo regular vehicle safety inspections.
A 6-week interval between inspections is the norm. If you feel that your vehicles can operate safely for longer periods without inspection - up to 13 weeks - you must obtain the approval of the DVSA Traffic Commissioners, by providing them with evidence for this.
